Welcome to the IEEE PES Boston Chapter website. We currently have over 550 members, including students and associates in and around the Boston area. During the course of past five years, we have developed the technical, education, web-publicity and student chapter sub-committees to help deliver good quality courses and technical meetings. Some of the topics covered recently include Grid Modernization, Energy Markets, Substation Automation and Arc Flash Safety. We also offer CEU/PDH accredited courses for continuing education in a number of topics such as Energy Storage, Microgrids, Symmetrical Components and Distribution Engineering. The highlight of each year occurs in May, when we hold our annual banquet with a distinguished speaker and honor our Outstanding Engineer Award winners.
All these events need volunteers to make them happen. We are always looking for new people to help out. If you would like to help us make our Chapter even more successful please contact me at my email below.
We also have an open invitation to anyone who would like give a talk at our Technical Meetings. If you are interested in giving a talk related to Power and Energy please contact me or any member of our Technical Meetings Committee.
The mission of the overall IEEE PES organization is to be the leading provider of scientific and engineering information on electric power and energy for the betterment of society, and the preferred professional development source for our members.~ Approved by the IEEE PES Governing Board, 17 July 2003
